FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know before you ride.

From choosing the right experience to understanding how routes, dates and GOLD work, here are the answers to the questions riders ask most often.

QUICK ANSWERS

Star with what you need.

The experience is designed to feel simple from the outside. These answers explain what happens before booking, after purchase and when the riding begins.

01 – CHOOSING YOUR EXPERIENCE

Choosing your experience

Find the format, bike and level that fit the way you want to ride.

The Wild South creates carefully planned, self-guided cycling experiences in southern Spain. We combine selected routes, local knowledge, day-by-day planning and GOLD navigation where included, so you can ride independently without having to build the whole journey yourself.

Training Camps bring several riding days together around a base, with a different route or objective each day. Multi-Day Routes are shorter experiences built across consecutive stages. One-Day Routes are complete single-day rides for riders who want to discover one exceptional route without committing to a longer trip.

Experiences are created for road, gravel and e-MTB depending on the terrain and route. Each experience clearly indicates the bike type it has been designed for.

Each experience shows the information that matters before you book: distance, elevation, terrain, difficulty and riding format. Choose a route that matches your fitness, confidence and technical ability rather than simply the number of kilometres.

02 – BOOKING & DATES

Booking & dates

From choosing an edition to seeing your personal itinerary.

Choose the experience and available edition that suits you, then complete the booking through The Wild South. Once the purchase is confirmed, the experience is linked to your customer account.

Your experience appears inside your Client Hub. From there you can see the itinerary, dates, practical information and the routes that become available according to your experience.

It depends on the experience. Some are offered as fixed editions with defined dates, while others may allow the itinerary to be planned from an available start date. The booking page will always show how that experience works.

When an experience has a flexible itinerary, future routes can be rearranged from the Client Hub within the rules of that experience. Some journeys use a fixed order because the stages depend on one another.

03 – ROUTES, CLIENT HUB & GOLD

Routes, Client Hub & GOLD

Your experience continues after checkout.

Your itinerary shows the structure of the experience from the Client Hub. Detailed route access can be released according to the scheduled day, so the experience unfolds in the order and timing prepared for your trip.

GOLD is The Wild South digital riding layer. When included in an experience, it gives you access to navigation and route information while you ride, connecting the route you purchased with the day you are actually riding it.

Normally, the experience is designed around your Client Hub and GOLD rather than requiring you to manage route files manually. If a particular experience includes downloadable files, that will be stated clearly in the product information.

You can see the overall itinerary and understand what the experience contains, but detailed access to individual routes may depend on the schedule and access rules of the experience.

03 – ON THE ROAD

On the road

The route matters, but your judgement always comes first.

Do not force the plan. Weather, heat, wind, snow or poor trail conditions can completely change a ride. Check the conditions, adapt the route where appropriate and postpone or stop if riding safely is no longer realistic.

A route is never an obligation. If you are tired, conditions deteriorate or something does not feel right, make the safest decision for the situation. Finishing every kilometre is less important than returning safely.

Most experiences are designed for independent riding unless the product specifically states otherwise. The exact level of support and what is included are shown on each experience before booking.

No. GOLD provides navigation and route information where included, but it is not an emergency or rescue service. In a genuine emergency in Spain, contact the official emergency services on 112.

STILL HAVE A QUESTION?

Ask before you ride.

If something about an experience, route, date or booking is not clear, ask us before you commit. The right answer before the ride is always better than uncertainty on the day.
