SAFETY & RIDE PREPARATION

Ride Wild
Ride Prepared

The Wild South is built around freedom, but never improvisation. Every experience is prepared with the terrain, distance, elevation, conditions and practical realities of the route in mind, so you can focus on the ride with the right information before you start.

BEFORE THE RIDE

Good Days Begin With Good Preparation.

Southern Spain offers extraordinary riding, but its landscapes can also be remote, exposed and demanding. Heat, altitude, changing surfaces, long climbs and isolated sections are all part of the experience.

That is why every route should begin with a clear understanding of what lies ahead.

1. Know the Route

Distance, elevation, terrain and the key characteristics of the route should be understood before you start riding.

2. Know the Conditions

Weather, temperature and seasonal conditions can completely change how a route should be approached.

3. Know Your Limits

Choose an experience that matches your fitness, riding ability, bike and confidence on the terrain ahead.

ON THE ROUTE

Information When It Matters.

When an experience includes GOLD, navigation and route information are available during the ride, helping you follow the planned route and identify relevant points along the way.

Technology supports the experience, but good judgement remains essential. Conditions on mountain roads, gravel tracks and remote trails can change, and every rider should be prepared to adapt when necessary.

Stay on the Planned Route

Follow the prepared itinerary and avoid unnecessary deviations, especially in remote or unfamiliar areas.

Carry the Essentials

Water, food, basic tools, charged devices and suitable clothing should always form part of the ride.

Ride to the Conditions

Surface, weather, traffic and visibility should always influence your pace, decisions and willingness to continue.

THE LANDSCAPE SETS THE RULES

Respect the Terrain.

From the exposed badlands of Gorafe to the high roads of Sierra Nevada and the mountain villages of the Alpujarra, every landscape has its own rhythm, challenges and rewards.

Ride with awareness, respect local restrictions and changing conditions, and remember that the right decision is sometimes to slow down, adapt the route or turn back.

YOUR BIKE. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

Start With Equipment You Can Trust

Your bike should be suitable for the route and in good mechanical condition before every ride. Tyres, brakes, drivetrain, battery range and essential equipment should never be an afterthought.

E-MTB
Check battery range, brakes, tyres and assistance levels before entering remote mountain terrain where charging options may be limited.

IF PLANS CHANGE

The Route Is Important.
Your Decision Is More Important.

Weather changes. Roads close. Trails deteriorate. Mechanical problems happen. Riders have bad days. No route should ever be treated as an obligation.

If the conditions are not right, adapt the ride. The Wild South is about discovering the landscape, not forcing a plan when the situation says otherwise.

RIDE RESPONSIBLY

Freedom Comes With Responsibility.

The Wild South prepares the experience, but every rider remains responsible for their own decisions, equipment, physical condition and behaviour on the road or trail.

Respect traffic regulations, local restrictions, other trail users, private property and the natural environment. Leave the landscape as you found it and ride in a way that allows others to enjoy it too.
